 A REGENCE ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD COMMODE

Marble top above two short and two long ondulating drawers, all with concetric rectangular banding. The angles headed by a plumed figuredhead above pierced foliate angle mount with scrolled sabots.

 A PAIR OF SEVRES PORCELAIN VASES

Sevres porcelain, marked (1804 - 1805). On turned socle and square bronze base. Fluted lower section and the neck is in dark-blue background, decorated with the mark of the emperor "N" and gilted eagle. The lid is crown shaped. Above the cylindrical body, Napoleon and his army is depicted. Signed by the artist H. Desprez.

Pierre Bardin stayed in İstanbul until 1901 altough he was originally planning a brief visit. He made his solo exhibitions in the important saloons of Istanbul such as Gülmez Brothers (1893). Maison Baker (1897), Visconti and Stefano's (1898) Nouveau Bazaar (1899). After he return to Paris, he displayed his works about Turkey in the Paris Saloons.

Decorated with pale pink and blue flower bouquets on white ivory background. Framed by gilted border. Above are two small and two long drawers with a sliding section revealing secret drawers and a writing surface. A beautiful example of Italian woodwork.
