In 1985,
historical Eþref Paþa Mansion, which was built in Maçka in the 1880s, was
restorated and turned into a magnificent antiques house called Antik Palace.
Antik
Palace is Turkey’s first and biggest auction house. This four-storey building
covering an area of 3000sqm is Europe’s fourth biggest auction house.
Antik
Inc. Co. possesses 80% of total antiques trade in Turkey. Since 1981, the
company has realized 207 auctions. The auctions are held either in Antik
Palace’s auction hall, which has a capacity of 300 people or at Swissôtel
ballroom. The auctions can be attended from Turkey or from abroad. To do so, you
have to call the company before the auction date.
Besides
auctions, Antik Inc. Co. Organizes exhibitions, symposiums, conferences and
annual art seminars. Books about art and antiques are on sale at Antik Palace
library. There is also a small and chic cafe in Antik Palace designed for your
comfort.
The antiques and precious objects that are
placed hand are of Ottoman and European origin. The antique objects

- Currently in Turkish art market, the most popular Turkish painters of the
past are:
Halil Pasa, Ibrahim Calli,
Avni Lifij, Hikmet
Onat, Namik Ismail, Ruhi Arel, Suleyman Seyyit, Nurullah Berk,
Hale Asaf.
